Hi, I’m Jamie. 29 years old, from a cosy place called Waltham Abbey in Essex, England. Interests: music (metal, progressive, classic rock, blues, jazz, folk, classical, ambient, noseflute etc), playing guitar (electric, acoustic, classical), my band (asoftoday.co.uk), being creative (songwriting, photography, music production, writing, webdesign) blah blah yadda yadda….
So what’s this all about?
The story so far is one you’ve probably heard many times before. The tale about escaping the rat-race, seeking fortune, fun and plunder, wandering forth into pastures unknown, sailing off into the sunset, and other equally romantic descriptions too. In August of 2009, disillusioned with both my job of 11 years and much that surrounded it, I made the long-awaited decision to quit work, book a flight to Bangkok, and stir things up a bit.
This blog is all about what happens next.
I set this site up so that I could keep friends and family back at home up to date with all the random adventures I’m yet to have, but it’d be nice to pick up a few more readers along the way.
